I’m featured in the first edition of bizzyhands online magazine!

About a month ago, a fellow Etsian FaerieMajikk let us know in the forums she was starting an online magazine and was looking for Etsy artists to feature in the first edition.  We were asked to submit our work, and if we had anything inspired by hearts and flowers.

I was thrilled when I got notice yesterday that my Valentine Paper Fortune cookies were selected for the first issue!

There are a number of Etsians featured, and a few articles and lots of eye candy!

You can download a flippable version of the catalogue or see it in pdf form here at http://bizzyhands.faeriemajikk.com/

Enjoy!

Happy Saturday!

A Paper Cookie and an Etsy top 10!

First, I have to toot my own horn and shout:

“I made the Etsy top 10 List this week!!”

This top ten list is chosen by Timothy Adam of  Timothy Adams Designs; an awesome Etsy seller who does so much for the Etsy community.  It is truly an honour to be recognized and have someone who people really look up to say “hey, I like this, check it out”.

So what did he pick?:

None other than the Latte Love gift set!

Now that my gushing is over…let’s move on to my Valentine’s day project that I’m super excited about… a paper cookie. Yes, that’s right, a paper Fortune cookie to be exact!

I receive emails from that crafty Martha Stewart, and the cookie of the day recipe on New Year’s Day was for fortune cookies (click for the link to the recipe)…and what was my first thought?

“I bet I can make those out of paper”.

So, after a few different sizes and some folding attempts, it worked and here they are, just in time for Valentine’s day!

Honestly, they’re too stinkin’ cute for words. I’m so happy with how they turned out, and my mind is full of more ideas.

I put a few different messages in them, printed off on the computer; “Happy Valentine’s Day”; “I ♥ you” and “Be Mine”.

Fresh out of the oven…get’em while they’re hot!

A Paper Buffet.com is now open!

apaperbuffet6 That’s right folks; after over a month of building, the independent website for A Paper Buffet is open!

What does this mean? More product, easier navigation, account member privileges (earn points towards discounts, collect them up until you want to use it!) and shopping in both Canadian and American dollars!

I’ll be continuing with my Etsy store, and will be trying to carry all products in both stores, however some will be unique to each site given the demographics.

I will be adding a Custom work gallery to A Paper Buffet so customers can see previous custom work for invitations, and other custom products.

I’ve got a million ideas in my head for new products, including some very unique Valentine’s day items, so join our newsletter to be kept up to date; new items will also be featured on the home page of A Paper Buffet.

A big thanks to all who made this new site possible and for supporting me in my effort to grow A Paper Buffet!

http://www.apaperbuffet.com goes live January 4th, 2010!

Jan4 2010 That’s right! January 4th, 2010 marks the launch of A Paper Buffet’s independent website!

I’m very thankful for the success of A Paper Buffet on Etsy over the past year, and will continue to keep a store there.  However, I’ve longed for the opportunity to design a site in my own style.

What will be different about apaperbuffet.com?

  • More inventory
  • Easy to find categories
  • Custom order Gallery
  • New projects
  • Coupon codes for instant discounts and special offers

and my favourite, shopping in Canadian AND American dollars!

I’m very excited to offer customers more choice on how they shop and the currency they use to pay for their orders.  User accounts will be available, but not mandatory to make a purchase.

apaperbuffet.com will continue to accept PayPal as it is the most secure payment method available at this time.  Future plans to support Google Checkout when it is available to Canadian sellers are in the works.

You can visit apaperbuffet.com and sign up now for the newsletter.

The newsletter will likely be monthly or quarterly, include tips, tutorials, specials and updates for members, and of course, opportunity for feedback and new products you’d like to see at apaperbuffet.com

Thank you again to all of those who have supported A Paper Buffet over the past year and I look forward to your support as A Paper Buffet grows.

Happy Wednesday!
